Suffering from famine and poor harvest, the townsfolk blame the dire state of their village on the Frankenstein curse and blow up the castle that has brought them nothing but misfortune. Forced to flee, Ygor and the Frankenstein monster, who have managed to elude death once again, seek out Dr. Henry Frankenstein's second son, Ludwig, in the neighboring town of Vasaria. In possession of his father's diary, which details every aspect of his notorious experiments, Ludwig succumbs to the temptation of providing the monster with a new and "improved" brain. Unfortunately, the creature insists on having the cerebrum of an innocent child put into him and kidnaps a little girl from the village. Ygor, on the other hand, wanting to be ultimately powerful and live forever, tricks the misguided doctor into placing his diabolical brain into the monster's body.
